As previously announced here, each day I will be posting a film to get you in the Christmas spirit. Each film is picked strategically based on what I believe will excite you closer and closer to the big day.
DAY 13: JUST FRIENDS (2005)
THIS IS THE MOST UNDERRATED MOVIE ON THIS LIST.
I love Just Friends and the majority of that love is owed to the unstoppable performance by Anna Faris. Ryan Reynolds plays Chris Brander, who returns home after 10 years and is now the hot successful man he wasn’t in high school and tries to score the heart of his old BFF one last time.
This movie is hilarious and so much fun. It doesn’t address the Christmas holiday directly, but it takes places leading up to the big day and features fun decor around suburban New Jersey and Los Angeles and a fun message about love and friendship.
The best part of the movie though is Anna Faris. She has nothing to do with the Christmas element, she’s just f*cking hilarious. The one-liners this girl throws out, her sassy and spunky character is probably her best.
This movie is such an underrated classic from the trash of the mid-2000’s and deserves more credit than I think it gets 13 years later. Please enjoy this one!
